Statistics of the occupation time for a class of Gaussian Markov processes

چکیده
We revisit the work of Dhar and Majumdar [Phys. Rev. E 59, 6413 (1999)] on the limiting distribution of the temporal mean Mt = t −1 ∫ t 0 du sign yu, for a Gaussian Markovian process yt depending on a parameter α, which can be interpreted as Brownian motion in the scale of time t′ = t2α. This quantity, for short the mean ‘magnetization’, is simply related to the occupation time of the process, that is the length of time spent on one side of the origin up to time t. Using the fact that the intervals between sign changes of the process form a renewal process in the time scale t′, we determine recursively the moments of the mean magnetization. We also find an integral equation for the distribution of Mt. This allows a local analysis of this distribution in the persistence region (Mt → ±1), as well as its asymptotic analysis in the regime where α is large. We finally put the results thus found in perspective with those obtained by Dhar and Majumdar by another method, based on a formalism due to Kac. ADK Entropy and ADK Entropy Rate in Irreducible- Aperiodic Markov Chain and Gaussian Processes
In this paper, the two parameter ADK entropy, as a generalized of Re'nyi entropy, is considered and some properties of it, are investigated. We will see that the ADK entropy for continuous random variables is invariant under a location and is not invariant under a scale transformation of the random variable. Furthermore, the joint ADK entropy, conditional ADK entropy, and chain rule of this ent...
متن کاملOn $L_1$-weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov processes
In the present paper we investigate the $L_1$-weak ergodicity of nonhomogeneous continuous-time Markov processes with general state spaces. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition for such processes to satisfy the $L_1$-weak ergodicity. Moreover, we apply the obtained results to establish $L_1$-weak ergodicity of quadratic stochastic processes.

Lam (2007) introduces a generalization of renewal processes named Geometric processes, where inter-arrival times are independent and identically distributed up to a multiplicative scale parameter, in a geometric fashion. We here envision a more general scaling, not necessar- ily geometric. The corresponding counting process is named Extended Geometric Process (EGP). Semiparametric estimates are...

This study develops a inventory model to determine ordering policy for deteriorating items with shortages under markovian inflationary conditions. Markov processes include process whose future behavior cannot be accurately predicted from its past behavior (except the current or present behavior) and which involves random chance or probability. متن کاملThe Rate of Entropy for Gaussian Processes
In this paper, we show that in order to obtain the Tsallis entropy rate for stochastic processes, we can use the limit of conditional entropy, as it was done for the case of Shannon and Renyi entropy rates. Using that we can obtain Tsallis entropy rate for stationary Gaussian processes. Finally, we derive the relation between Renyi, Shannon and Tsallis entropy rates for stationary Gaussian proc...
